Alfonso Blanco

Alfonso Blanco is certainly a rising prospect to watch out for. The venezuelan is unbeaten in his eight fights so far and is showing plenty of potential.

In 2007 he won a silver medal at the Amateur world championships and had to beat the likes of rising british fighter James Degale and the late Darren Sutherland in order to do so which is no easy feat and demonstrates his pedigree.

Although he boasts just three knockouts in eight fights he won’t have been matched against pushovers. At around six feet tall in the light middleweight division he often has a height and big reach advantage over opponents which he optimises with rangy rapier like jabs and stinging right hands in speedy combinations.

Under the banner of Golden Boy Promotions and the stewardship of Robert Garcia in Oxnard California he could become a force to be reckoned with in what is a stacked division.
