Oxford United haven’t won at the Kassam since the 1st January but a great away win at league leaders Gillingham will give them much needed confidence. They are unbeaten in 3 and languishing in mid table mediocracy. They would need a big run of victories to have any chance of the playoffs and it looks too big of an ask. A decent attacking line with Rigg,Potter and Smalley along with the goals of Craddock and Constable is all to often undemined by a midfield unable to exert control and a poor defence. They have the 5th worst defence and have conceded more goals than bottom of the league Plymouth.
Port Vale missed out on the chance to go top with a loss to Exeter City at home in mid-week. There away form has topped there home this season winning 10 of 17 and only losing twice all season. Only Gillingham are better away. They will want to bounce straight back. They thumped Oxford 3-0 at home earlier in the season and haven’t lost back to back league games yet.
