Port Vale have suffered a blip recently losing their last 2 games which has allowed Gillingham to open up a 3 point lead at the top of the league. They will be desperate to return to winning ways when League Cup finalists Bradford City come to town. They have only won 1 game in their last 5 and their poor spell has coincided with the league’s top goal scorer Tom Pope’s dry spell in front of goal. The striker hasn’t scored since before signing his new two and half year deal at Vale Park.
Bradford City have 2 games in hand and will have to win both if they are to have a chance of keeping their playoff hopes alive. They secured their first win in 4 games with a win over York consigning Gary Mills’ head to the block. It will be down to Parkinson to keep the belief that they can make the playoffs but it looks like a huge ask in a tough division.
