#No.5 Gareth Barry
Defensive Midfielder: Everton
89% pass accuracy

In at No.5 somewhat unsurprisingly is Everton’s defensive midfield anchor man Gareth Barry. Everton have endured a slow start to the season but are now unbeaten in their last six matches in all competitions and Barry has featured in all 11 of their Premier League games so far, setting the tempo at the base of the Toffee’s midfield.

#No.4 Nathan Dyer
Attacking Midfielder Right: Swansea City
89% pass accuracy

When you think of the diminutive Nathan Dyer, Swansea City’s right winger, you think of his electric pace and dribbling ability that mean that he is capable of exposing most full backs. However, with a pass accuracy of 89% Dyer is currently one of the most accurate English passers of the ball plying his trade in the top division in English football. It is unsurprising though, that a Swansea City player makes the top 5 with the Swans now being synonymous with a slick attractive passing game.

#No.3 Jack Colback
Central midfielder: Newcastle United
89.2% pass accuracy

25 year old Jack Colback has been an ever present in Alan Pardew’s midfield engine room this season after securing a dream transfer to the club of his boyhood dreams. He only has one England cap to his name at junior under 20 level but hasn’t gone unnoticed by Roy Hodgson, Neville and company who called him up to the senior squad in August. However after suffering an injury he had to withdraw from the squad and he is still yet to earn an England cap. No English Midfielder has a higher pass percentage than him so far this season in the Premier League.

#No.2 John Terry
Centre back: Chelsea
89.9% pass accuracy

In at No.2 it’s the rock at the heart of the Chelsea defence, John Terry. He’s never been blessed with pace but his strong anticipation, positioning and distribution skills have held up for the 33 year old and he is playing his part in one of the meanest defences in the Premier league.

#No.1 Phil Jagielka
Centre back: Everton
91.9% pass accuracy

In at top spot, its not the silky footed Adam Lallana or the gifted technician Jack Wilshire…it’s Everton centre half Phil Jagielka. He is not famed for his technical ability in possession of the ball but it seems that Jagielka’s simple distribution game is paying dividends for him as he continues his central defensive partnership with Gary Cahill in the England backline. His accurate passing out from the back isn’t going such a long way in keeping the goals out for Everton though, who have conceded 18 goals in just 11 league matches this season.
