We’ve been out and about in the lower echelons of the Football League and think we’ve seen Ex Manchester United maestro Paul Scholes pulling on a Shrewsbury shirt. On closer inspection at the teamsheet it was actually Ryan Woods.
The Shrewsbury Town midfielder has put in some really impressive performances in League Two this season having come through the Shrews youth system. He has pulled the strings from the deep lying central midfield role in a Scholes like fashion and at 20 years old has already established himself as a mainstay in the Shrewsbury Town starting eleven with a full season of League One experience under his belt from last term.
The flame headed number four is certainly not immune to a yellow card or two and with his tenacious streak he won’t go down very well at all with away fans during matches. Fans come to respect a good player by the final whistle though and a growing number of fans of League Two clubs are irritated but at the same time impressed with the kid bossing the middle of the park.
Name: Ryan Woods
