Newcastle United v Chelsea

After a torrid start to the season pressure has relieved on Magpies boss Alan Pardew after their October and November purple patch ignited by the bright spark of a young striker in Iyoze Perez. Newcastle haven’t lost at St James Park in five matches; only Manchester City have taken them for all three points at home in the league. However, in their last two games they have lost to West Ham and drew with Burnley so even with Sissooko and Colback available again this looks like an uphill battle from the start.

Chelsea are starting to carry an indomitable aura with them after 14 games are still unbeaten and hold a six point lead at the top of the Premier League table. They have a club record of 24 matches unbeaten in all competitions in their sights and will achieve that feat by taking at least a point from their endeavours. Its likely they will lose at some point but at the moment they are showing no real signs of slipping up.

Manchester City v Everton

Man City look to have overcome their end of October/start of November blip in form with four wins on the bounce in all competitions hitting 12 goals in that period.Sergio Aguero has been stealing all the headlines and rightly so. The diminutive Argentine has been on fire for City netting five times in his last three appearances including a stunning hatrick against Bayern Munich and brace against Sunderland last time out.

Everton are slowly starting to pick up points and climb Premier League table but whilst putting in some excellent displays in the Europa League, progress has been slower in the league with just one win in their last five. They are still proving hard to beat though having only lost one in seven.

Tottenham Hotspur v Crystal Palace

Spurs have been lacking consistency in the league this season with Mauricio Pochettino chopping and changing the first eleven and being unable to find the correct blend and balance. They also have struggled at White Hart Lane losing four of seven games on home turf. They need to get back to winning ways after a comprehensive loss to Chelsea in a London derby. They have the attacking talent amongst their ranks to take the victory against a Warnock Palace side who will be nothing short of organised.

The Eagles have only won once in seven away games played so far this campaign and every away win will be a great result but will without a doubt be very infrequent this season. Mile Jedinak has developed into a key player this term and with a number of injuries they may be reliant on him to nick something again.

Derby County v Brighton

Derby Still sit top of the Championship after a 2-0 loss to Leeds United last time out at Elland Road. Derby have only lost 1 game in nine at home so will be looking to bouce back to winning ways immediately.

Brighton have only won one game in nine away from the AMEX this season and have just one win in their last six. A trip to Derby is a very tough assignment for Hypia and his team who currently sit down in 22nd spot.

Cardiff v Rotherham

Cardiff are on a good run of form and are unbeaten in their last three and they have surely and steadily been ascending the Championship league table and sit in 8th positon currently.

Rotherham meanwhile are winless in seven games and have just one solitary away win to their name in ten attampts this season. They look as though they will be in for a relegation dogfight and are hovering precariously over the drop zone in 21st place.
